Inspiring and Motivating Individuals

Inspiring and Motivating Individuals – Certificate

ROSS SCHOOL OF BUSINESS, University of Michigan – Inspiring and Motivating Individuals

About this course

In this course, you will learn how to create a shared vision for your team and communicate it effectively to your teammates. You will also learn to set effective goals and expectations so your team can better fulfill the shared vision. Finally, you will understand the most important needs and drivers for performance across cultures and learn to align rewards with desired behaviors so that your teammates are motivated to achieve team goals.

Motivation is a major challenge for organizations today: A recent Gallup poll found that only 13% of employees worldwide show high levels of engagement and motivation. We’ll show you why these motivational issues aren’t just caused by a “bad” or “unmotivated” team member. Rather, motivation is largely determined by the type of work environment we create for our teammates, how we structure goals and objectives, and how we reward people for achieving those goals. This course will help you diagnose and solve motivation problems so that you can bring out the best in your employees.
