About this course
Organizations are complex and difficult to manage well. Therefore, managers need tools to help them better understand and deal with the many complexities and challenges associated with the life of an organization. In this course, you will explore theories, principles, and frameworks to help you build more effective organizations. We will look at organizations from different perspectives, which we will use as a lens to help us focus on common organizational problems and solutions to those problems. Some of these common challenges include clarifying the purpose of the organization, establishing effective management systems, measuring the effectiveness of the organization, choosing the appropriate organizational structure, solving growth problems, and responding to change outside of the organization. As you learn and apply the principles in this course, you will be better equipped to effectively meet the challenges you face in your own organization.
