Adapt your leadership style
Adapt your leadership style – Certificate
MACQUARIE GRADUATE SCHOOL OF MANAGEMENT – Adapt your leadership style
About this course
Why are organizational behavior disorders like cynicism, apathy, bullying, and disconnection increasingly common in the workplace? This course explores these contradictions and how authentic, inclusive, transformational leadership styles offer an alternative to the more authoritarian, work-oriented, and controlling leadership styles of the past. You will learn how the digital revolution, along with a greater emphasis on projects and teamwork, has dramatically changed the perception of leadership in such a way that now all members of the organization must assume some form of self-government. And you’ll learn how this shift is creating tensions between traditional leaders and modern methods, vital to staying flexible in today’s ultra-competitive market. This training will be complemented with structured exercises such as video lectures, questionnaires, discussion guides, and written evaluations.
Critically evaluate the similarities and differences between traditional and contemporary theories of leadership
Examine the complexities and challenges of day-to-day organisational life might require agile shifts between different leadership styles
Analyse how post-industrial forms of participative and self-organising leadership might enable or disable effective cross-functional teamwork
Part of the Global Master of Business Administration (Global MBA) degree. Ranked #1 in Australia and #6 globally.
